TO REACH THE YOUTH HOSTEL FROM THE AIRPORT

A train leaves every 15 minutes from the airport to the centre of the city (cost:   5.10 Euro).

Get off at The North station (Bruxelles Nord). The train trip takes about 20 minutes.

From the station to the youth hostel is a 10 minutes’ walk. Be ready for some possible rain (after all … Belgium is famous for its frequent rain).

In the trainstation, take the exit to Place ROGIER (if you don’t find it easily, ask someone). Go straight, cross the square to the avenue and take RUE NEUVE (pedestrian street with many shops). Walk along the shop "INNO" (on your left side) and after the shop, turn left. ‘Sleepwell youth hostel’  is on the next street just in front of you

Just in case … that this good old fashion road description does not work for you, please check out the Itinerary on www.mappy.com or Google Maps)

For the ones preferring a taxi from the airport) to the youth hostel, please note that this will be around 40 Euros. Be aware that taxi costs will not be reimbursed

Welcome to C&I in YiA TC :)

Have you noticed how many times we use letters to substitute words?

Training Course = TC

C&I = Creativity and Innovation

Sometimes we use smiles like these :) ;) to substitute real smiles, fast easy movies to substitute good books, time in front of a computer in place of time alone staring at a sunset, even facebook contacts for real friends!

By simplifying the world around us we are simplifying our lives. Do you want a simplified life? A simple story? One that could never be a title of a book because it doesn't have enough joy, friends and sunsets?

And for next week do you want it... simple?

Leave a comment in the forum or in FB.

K & H :)

International market …euhm… ?

The second evening of the training course, you’ll find in the program the timeblock ‘international market: different approaches towards ICL’ … now, the question could (and maybe should be): WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!

And yes …haha .. we’ve been wondering ourselves over the past years the same thing. Almost without exception, every international project within Yout in Action seems to have such an evening on the program menu. Where often is derails in an evening some will remember for ever, others prefer to forget and some don’t even manage to recall (mixing spirits is a dangerous adventure), there seem to be some kind of learning involved.

Well, for our evening … let’s have a nice mixture of all this! You’re are invited to bring along drinks and snacks you wish to share with others (can be local, homemade, traditional –euhm…what is traditional these days?- or just something you actually like yourself) and why not a small game or some interesting and different way of getting people interested in discovering something of your culture and habits!?

For those interested, there has been a nice article about international evenings in the magazine ‘COYOTE’ nº 13 (https://youth-partnership.coe.int/youth-partnership/documents/Publications/Coyote/13/intercultural_evening.pdf). Check it out if you find the time.

So … we are ready for an evening to remember, forget or … what was the other option again?
